Did you know that crashes are the leading cause of death for children from age 3 to 14?
Using a car seat correctly can prevent many of these injuries and deaths. However, if car seats are not used correctly, serious injuries can occur. Parents are encouraged to stop by a car seat check-up to have their child’s car seat inspected free of charge. When a parent arrives, a certified car seat safety technician will inspect child safety seats. Necessary adjustments will be made by the parent so the seats are properly installed to protect children in the event of a crash. The technician will also answer parents’ questions or concerns about car seat safety. Child passenger safety check-up events are held monthly at the Cloquet Area Fire District on a first come first served basis. For questions call, KaRee Liimatainen with Min No Aya Win Human Services Center at 218-878-2126. This event is sponsored in part by Community Memorial Hospital.
