Job Summary

This casual Coder/Abstractor position is responsible for accurate, consistent, and timely coding and abstracting of health records for Hospital Facility Services. Accurately identifies and codes all diagnoses using ICD-10-CM in accordance with established coding rules and guidelines. Accurately identifies and codes CPT procedures in accordance with established coding rules and guidelines. Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to review documentation and identifies any missing documentation needed for complete coding. Correctly abstracts the required patient data from the record in computer system in conjunction with code assignment to ensure accurate information for billing and index purposes.

Requirements: Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC required. One (1) year or more coding experience preferred. Experience using encoding and grouping software and use of a computerized medical information system.

Wage

You could earn an hourly wage of $23.16 to $32.42 per hour, depending on your work experience
