Overview
Job Summary
The Coding Lead performs documentation reviews and codes any services performed in the hospital along with various physician professional fees. Resolves complex coding scenarios, provides feedback and assists with the resolution of coding related denials. Ensure coding compliance that result in appropriate reimbursement and data quality. Works with the Revenue Cycle Manager, coding team and physicians to improve the accuracy, integrity and quality of patient data, to ensure minimal variation in coding practices that support code assignments. Disperses coding work lists and serves as the main resource for daily coding issues and questions. Provides research and timely information on coding changes to the team.
Wage
Minimum of 10 years acute hospital inpatient/outpatient and/or professional coding experience required. Experience using coding and grouping software and use of an electronic health record system. RHIA, RHIT, or CCS. Medical Coding Certification required or attainable within first twelve months of employment. Maintenance of credential(s) required.
