Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to assigned hospitalized patients in accordance with physician orders established policies and procedures. May provide workflow direction of other nursing personnel i.e., HUC, NA/R. This position will enhance patient care in the following areas: PACU and Day Surgery and secondary support to perioperative services and Med Surg.

Responsibilities include: 1.Observing patients for side effects of anesthesia 2. Monitoring and recording patient vital signs 3. Monitoring patients’ level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery 4. Performing post-operative task, such as administrating medication or changing dressings 5. Checking and updating patient files, charts, and medical records 6. Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologist, physicians, and other members of the patients care team 7. Providing comfort and answering questions when patients wake up from sedation 8. Educating patients and their families regarding post-surgery care at home.

Requirements: Licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. BLS and ACLS required. PALS and TNCC required within one (1) year (12 months) of hire date. One (1) year general nursing experience as an RN preferred. Experience in ICU and PACU preferred.

Wage

Depending on your work experience, you could earn a wage from $42.46 to $63.16 per hour.
