Job Summary
Surgical Technologists are individuals with specialized education who function as members of the surgical team in the role of scrub person. The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
Requirements: Graduate of a certified surgical technology program. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting desired. Willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends, and holidays when necessary and to take call.
Wage: You could earn an hourly wage of $26.02-$31.21, depending on your work experience
