Performs secretarial duties for department directors and members of the Administrative Team. Assists with interviews as needed, timekeeping/pay roll preparation; composes correspondence as directed; may record/type minutes of meetings; may develop schedules for several nursing departments; arranges coverage for current and upcoming shifts based on established guidelines and needs; accepts and records absenteeism calls; notifies supervisor or department director and unit when appropriate; secures replacement staff.
Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent GED, Associate Degree in business desirable. Demonstrated problem solving in routine and emergency situations. Requires competent written and verbal communication skills, be capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff. Ensure Hospital related information is kept in a confidential manner. High degree of interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, courtesy and positive approach methods Positive phone etiquette required. Subject to frequent interruptions. May be exposed to infectious or hazardous diseases, waste, dust and fumes.
