Volunteer

Join our friendly, caring team

Volunteers from all walks of life and each of our surrounding communities choose to give their time and energy to Community Memorial Hospital. They can be found serving in a multitude of ways, including assisting patients, delivering mail, staffing the giftshop, maintaining facility gardens, playing the lobby piano, greeting visitors at the front desk, and supporting various hospital departments as needed.

Why volunteer?

  • Enrich the lives of others.
  • Feel a sense of accomplishment and personal satisfaction.
  • Put your talents and experience to work for a good cause.
  • Become part of a friendly, caring team.
  • Explore possible healthcare careers.

These are some of the reasons our active volunteers give their time to CMH. Men and women, ages 14 to 90 plus, contribute positively to life at the hospital and CMH Raiter Family Clinic. You, too, can choose from a multitude of jobs that suit your interests and provide a change of pace from your daily routine. Think about joining our team of active and enthusiastic volunteers. To apply, please download the CMH Application to Volunteer and follow the instructions.

About the CMH Volunteer Services Organization/Auxiliary

The CMH Auxiliary Board manages the Gift Shop, holds fundraisers and provides services at the hospital. Since 2004, the Auxiliary has given nearly $39,000 to CMH. Fundraisers have included Collective Goods, the “No-Bake” Sale, Lights of Love, used book sale, an annual garage sale, and Vendor and Craft Fair.

As a way of saying “thank you” to volunteers, the Auxiliary provides a complimentary meal to all volunteers upon request whenever they are serving, free coffee or tea at the Volunteer Check-in Station, an annual appreciation lunch, and opportunities to attend the Minnesota State Hospital Volunteer Organization’s annual conference and the MAHB District B meetings.
