Philosophy of Care
Karen became interested in speech therapy to help children with disabilities, but she soon discovered its rewarding nature in supporting individuals of all abilities and ages in achieving their communication and dysphagia goals. At CMH, she values the time she can spend with each patient, allowing her to design engaging activities that motivate and make therapy enjoyable. She is committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming care by focusing on patients’ strengths, ensuring they feel comfortable and empowered as they progress toward their goals.

Outside of work, she loves being active outdoors with her family, whether mountain biking, running, hiking, kayaking, or skiing. She also spends time exploring new, healthy recipes to try, combining her love for cooking with her commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
