Working under the direction of the radiologist and the Director of Imaging Services, the CT technologist operates the CT (computed tomography) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of the patient for diagnostic or interventional purposes. Responsible for all aspects related to the operation of the CT scanner.
Requirements: Graduate of an approved course for radiologic technology. Registered with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), with certification in CT; or ready to take the CT examination within 6 months. Must have in-depth knowledge of equipment to maintain general operation ensuring manufactures specifications are being upheld and equipment quality control measures are being met. Computer skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Tact and courtesy are essential when interacting with patients visitors and coworkers. Practices a positive communication style, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize with a high degree of efficiency.
