Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

A path to better breathing: Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Community Memorial Hospital

The Pulmonary Rehab program at CMH is designed to help patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including:

  • Emphysema
  • Chronic bronchitis
  • Other lung diseases

The goal is for patients to enhance their quality of life by improving their physical health. Here at CMH, our goal is to slow the progression of lung disease symptoms through a comprehensive program.

CMH is committed to helping patients with lung disease

Though Pulmonary Rehabilitation cannot cure lung disease, it can help patients make the most of their limited lung function. Over time, you may notice better, easier breathing and less frequent breathing challenges.

This is where our program comes in. Pulmonary Rehab will include information on:

  • Exercise conditioning
  • Lung function
  • Sleep apnea
  • Breathing retraining
  • Diet and nutrition
  • Energy conservation
  • Medication management
  • Oxygen and home care

Our skilled, highly-trained staff will work with you to develop a custom healthcare solution tailored to your respiratory needs.  A medical director, exercise physiologist, respiratory therapist, social worker, chaplain, dietician, occupational therapist, pharmacist, and speech therapist will all be involved in your care.

The benefits of Pulmonary Rehab

From exercise plans to psychosocial support, we have you covered. Consider Pulmonary Rehab to:

  • Learn more about your condition, and the treatment options and coping mechanisms available.
  • Manage your breathing challenges and other symptoms.
  • Adopt and maintain healthy behaviors to improve your lifestyle.

Services are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3pm. Patients may receive up to 36 treatments. A physician referral is needed to enroll.
